Message from the Area Vice President Chai Talag

Allow me to express my gratitude to RVP for Metro East Constantine Ignacio, President Manuel Ibasco Jr. of JCI Valenzuela, President Kate Abucay of JCI QC Sampguita, President Iris Castro JCI QC Diamante, President Katherine Yap of JCI San Juan Dambana and ACM Chairman Coco Reyes for playing host for our the 1st Area Council Meeting last January 14, 2017 at Paraiso ni Baste Valenzuela. 

This year, our 1st ACM offered an abundance of activities and training sessions to equip our members of the essentials for LO and BOD Management. I would like to thank the hardworking officers of Area 2 for making sure that Metro Area is equipped with the right tools to run their LOs and to inspire more young people to work together to help bring the nation to greater heights.

Metro Area Training Director Ran Pilapil prepared a Forum for the Metro Area LTDs to present his training plans as aligned with the plans of the National Training Directorate. At the AVANTE training, he also conducted a session on Active Citizenship Framework (ACF) which is hinged to the purpose of Area 2 this year – to make a mark in the communities we are privileged to impact.

Area Secretary General Aimee Flordeliza facilitated her own module for Area 2 Secretaries. Being a Local President in 2015 she shared her own learning, best practices and possible solutions to the common challenges encountered by an LO Secretary.

Area Executive Director Sweetie Mamalias also met with the Area Chairpersons for a brainstorming workshop– The Area Chairmens Round Table.

I would like to thank all the Area Chairpersons for sharing their plan of action for the Area Programs and projects assigned to them this early.

Thank you also to our AVANTE Speakers 2016 NSG Walter Uy who talked about eJCIPEA and 2013 President of JCI Manila Jonas Ang for sharing with us the 10 Traits of a Leader. Thank you for tirelessly sharing your expertise and knowledge to the the members of Area 2. 

Lastly, I would like to thank all the delegates and Presidents who joined us in our 1st Area Council Meeting. May the things learned in the training sessions and in every discussion inspire us to constantly seeks ways to create positive changes through JCI. And while doing so, may we remember to always extend a service that is truly Beyond SELF!
