This 2017, we have six (6) approved National Programs under the Impact Strategy that aligns with our belief that “service to humanity is the best work of life.”

In anticipation of the release of the official circulars (March 18) and their respective national launches, I am happy to introduce our 2017 National Chairpersons for our Impact Programs:

  • ND Karen Romarate (JCI Manilena) – National Director for UNSDGs & Impact
  • NC Ramil Montealto (JCI Mandaue) – Bags to School
  • NC Michelle Endaya (JCI Makati Princess Urduja) – Beyond Prison Walls
  • NC Aileendel “Leng” Alair (JCI Magalang Mekeni) – Got Heart
  • NC Norianne “Gurlie” Frondoza (JCI Cotabato) – Peace is Possible
  • NC Jamie Gellor (JCI Bukidnon Maragway) – Pinay Power
  • NC Jeffrey Danda (JCI Ipil) – Think Green

Together with their area and regional teams, and with the guidance and support of all former NCs, these individuals have taken on the task of ensuring that the implementation of our programs this year will not only create positive and sustainable impact in the local level, but should also align with the goals of both JCI and the UN through the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

In their execution, there are two (2) important recommendations that I would like to make for all AVPs, RVPs, and LO Presidents:

  1. The first relates to PEOPLE. I have observed that every JCI Local Organization have their own local projects, advocacies and initiatives; and I would prefer that our National Programs not compete with them for each of your focus, time and energies.

Given that these National Programs are structured and have already been tested, I would like all Epic Presidents to assign their implementation to New Members and Baby Jaycees.

  1. The second relates to PROCESS. I am suggesting at least two (2) implementations or strikes for each of these six (6) National Programs – one for Q2 2017 and another for Q3 2017.

For the 1st implementation between April to June, I want to simply see new members experience the joy of implementing a project at whatever scale they choose. The goal is for them to experience and learn. The attitude is “better done than perfect.”

For the 2nd implementation between July to September, I want to see Strength in Unity in action – through collaboration between sister chapters or regions. The goal is to create opportunities for members from different chapters to build working relationships with each other, and at the same time, allow them to execute a project at a bigger scale.

On behalf of all our 2017 National Directors and Chairpersons, I would like to express our 100% commitment in helping all Local Organizations, Presidents and Members in the implementation of our National Programs – especially in the areas of Finance & Sponsorships, Marketing & Branding, as well as in Project Documentation & Reporting.

In the end, no award, points nor recognition can ever replace the joy and fulfillment of service and volunteerism.

Thank you in advance for all your effort, time and dedication.

God bless us all.

A CONTINUING JOURNEY TOWARDS PEACE (text version)

On behalf of our 2017 National Board and Chairpersons, I am happy to finally introduce five (5) new logos for our Impact National Programs.

This initiative to rebrand started with one purpose in mind – consistency. And I believe that our new logos have achieved this through the following:

  1. JCI Philippines Logo: the JCI Philippines logo is now present, and is located on top of every logo. The presence of the JCI Philippines logo shall also serve as a reminder for all members that every project implementation should be done up to the standards of this organization and its values.
  1. Program Icon: every logo contains an “icon” that we envision can stand-alone in the future – Pinay Power’s Pink Silhouette; Got Heart’s Ribbon; Think Green’s Tree; Beyond Prison Wall’s Golden Bars; and finally, Bags to School’s Backpack.
  1. The Dove: last but not least, we have incorporated the Peace is Possible Dove in every logo to align with Henry Giessenbier Jr.’s hope for JCI. The dove shall remind us that every project that we do should be for the goal of creating everlasting peace.

In line with this, we will be releasing a branding kit with Logo Usage Guidelines and Templates that we hope will make it easier for all chapters to prepare tarpaulins, posters, letters, and other collateral needed for the implementation of our programs.

Through every implementation of our programs, in JCI and in each of our own little way, we embark on a continuing journey towards peace.
